Of the candidates mentioned for the Democrats, Gun Owners of America rates Bayh an F and Hillary an F-.  Great choices for gun owners!!! The Democrats are losing elections because of their anti-gun attitude. When are they going to wake up? Guliani isn't rated but from what I understand he is no better.

Who else have you got?

If that were true, Al Gore would not have won the popular vote in 2000.

It really isn't a big issue. Hillary will lose, Bayh will win, and that's how it will go for the Democratic Party.

Hillary Clinton and Gore would have been early favorites for the 04 race too.

Despite Clinton's scandal-a-week administration he was still quite popular. Also the economy was very robust. Gore should have won easily, but he lost. The pro-gun vote is enough to tip the balance in close elections. Without the endorsement of the NRA Bush would have lost.

Early days, but my intitial hunch is Hillary selectable rather than electable and Giuliani is electable rather than selectable - expect opposition from evangelicals

I'd prefer Hillary to Giuliani (gone right off him after he likened Bush to Churchill). Hillary will gravitate to the centre but it would be wise if the Democrats selected a more genuine centrist
