Why shouldn't Ray Mabus, ex-Mississippi governor, be Obama's VP?

I'm serious.  I'm not a big fan of Mabus or anything personally, I'm just marveling about his strategic political value as a Vice President.  He could be a complete jerk for all I know.  I don't care about him succeeding in life or him being a great vice president, again just his value to the ticket.

Is everyone just going to dismiss it?

I like Mabus a lot.  I wanted him to run for governor a year ago, or for the Senate this year, and I'd love to see him on the ticket.  I can't imagine why Obama would choose him, but I won't be anything but happy if he does.

Oh right, I forgot to put that as one of his potential disadvantages.  Mabus is like the third anti-Christ who will trigger the apocalypse or something when he dies.  However most of the people who would believe that already think that Obama is an Islamic Manchurian candidate seeking to turn the United States into a sultanate.
