In 2006, George Allen defeats Jim Webb, 53-46, although the GOP still loses the Senate due to Harold Ford beating Bob Corker, 51-48, after a commercial from Corker is deemed racist.

Mark Warner decides to run for the Democratic nomination, and is able to knock off Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.  He selects Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas as his running mate.

George Allen, fresh off his victory over Webb, also seeks the GOP nomination, and wins after a long primary battle.  He selects the former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney as his running mate.

So, the tickets are:
Mark Warner (VA)/Blanche Lincoln (AR) v. George Allen (VA)/Mitt Romney (MA)

I would add Florida and Arizona to Warner. Allen is/was a horrible candidate, even if he did win re-election. If things really got bad for Allen, ie Warner winning by 8%, throw in Tennessee and North Carolina.

396-142 Warner wins.
