That was the Squirrel + Turtle = Squirtle one, right?

I thought it funny; and I double-checked that it was really BRTD posting and not Ilikeverin. But "blow my mind"? No.

Squirtle is my favorite pokemon name, it's so obviously silly, so that is not a surprise

Ha, I found it because everyone was using Pokemon avatars in the chat room at work so I was looking for one. I was rather shocked when I saw it too. Clever.

Joe wasn't a Pokemon fan clearly.

I wasn't a huge one either, but my brother loved them and watched the show all the time so I picked up on a lot of it. I also played his game a bit but didn't get into it.

I'm the same age as BRTD; about a month or two younger, in fact.

Same here. I played & beat a few of the Pokemon games, but never really cared for it. They were kind of just there.

And I wasn't a huge fan either. Like I said, I only knew about it because of my brother. So the too old explanation makes sense.

Pokemon came out in the U.S. around late 1998 I think. I know everyone my age was playing it, and I'm six years younger than you...

So you are in fact too old to have been part of the target age group of the original Pokemon games.

Me and Joe were 14 at the time. Kind of on the cusp. I ignored it, but started to find it interesting because of my brother, but only somewhat. I liked the cartoon for campy reasons, it was such a stupid show fundamentally (how did the main characters fall for Team Rocket's disguises?) but...

Also I remember playing Pokemon Snap at my cousin's house because it's the only game he had for N64 which I hated in general. I'll admit it was actually a rather fun game. Didn't go too far on my brother's Game Boy game though.

Mind blown, yes.

I came along at the height of the Pokemon craze.
