Thanks, guys! Just for the record, here I've been Chief Justice of the Court, governor on several occasions, and Vice President for a bit.

In real life, I'm a teacher of English and Government. In the past, I've taught AP US and Comparative Politics; currently I'm teaching a course for all freshmen at our school on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, based on the "We the People" curriculum done by The Center for Civic Education.

I'm sure others know a lot more about criminal law than I do, but I'd gladly help how I can and would be honored to serve on the Bar with the fine folks who have already been nominated.

Given the amount of criminal trials we've had recently, I've been reminding myself to bump up this thread.

Now doing so.

I checked through the RowanBrandon trial thread, and it appears like Al is now a member of the Supreme Court Bar (and I approve).

I approve of Purple State's admittance.

I would also like to apply, considering I've argued a considerable number of cases already in Atlasian court.

I've apparantly been admitted to the Mideastern regional bar, but request admittence to the Atlasian Bar as well.

Incidentally, is there any real need for a bar membership beyond maybe being a registered voter or pro se representation? The latter does not require a license to practice law in the real world, so why would it require one in Atlasia?

In United States, no, but in some countries, you must be a member of the Bar, like in Canada (except if you represent yourself).

I like having the Bar because it allows we on the court to keep  out the outright jackasses who want to just grandstand and muck up the process.  (I think we've only ever refused maybe one person).

You, Badger, are welcome as far as I'm concerned, if J. Spade concurs.

I'm fine with Badger too.  He's made a number of cogent arguments in the past, imo.

I thank the Court, and see the point raised by Justice Opebo for having such a bar registry to work as a 'troll filter'.

I also want to formally approve TCash101, even though he hasn't been around for a while.
