There has been one for the same US recognition issue before.

Thought that question, unfortunately, was an up-or-down vote on the least popular of the options, so little was settled.

White House Announces Cabinet Shakeup
September 11, 2008

For Immediate Release

Halfway through his term, President Moderate today announced his intention to relieve Secretary of External Affairs MasterJedi of his cabinet duties and appoint former president and senator Colin Wixted (NLC-PA) to the position.

"I thank MasterJedi for his work as Secretary of External Affairs in helping to craft this administration's foreign policy and leading us toward a final compromise on the issue of United States recognition," the President said in a written statement.  "I expect MasterJedi will continue to work with the administration towards our common goals."

The President has already notified Senate President Pro Tempore Lewis Trondheim of his intention to nominate Colin Wixted to the position.  A smooth confirmation process is expected.

"I look forward to working with former President Wixted in furthering a coherent foreign policy and in crafting the referendum on United States recognition," explained the President, referencing yesterday's announcement to place a referendum on the October 2008 federal ballot.

If it's the third option, the RPP will not allow this act of aggression to go unanswered. Angry

Though that doesn't mean that the people have to be happy about the president's decisions in regards to the cabinet. Wink

You have a point actually. Now we're free to have MasterJedi run for another office. Like President. Evil

Speaking of, I'll be making an announcement by the end of the week as to whether or not I will seek re-election to the office of President.

I encourage those with opinions and preferences to my decision make them known either publicly or by private message.

I hope that you don't run for re-election. If you do, the RPP will have no choice but to mount a campaign so ferocious that will make Bush '88 look clean & positive by comparison. Tongue

Here is the first draft of my proposed ballot questions regarding Atlasian recognition of the United States.

Any comments and constructive criticism would be welcome today so this can be finalized for the opening of the absentee booth.

Questions 1 and 2 are non-binding referenda placed on this ballot by executive order.

Question 1—RECOGNITION OF THE UNITED STATES:
Shall the Atlasia recognize the United States as a nation in concurrent existance?
[  ] YES
[  ] NO

Question 2—REPLACEMENT OF THE UNITED STATES:
Shall Atlasia's place in the world be seen as an effective replacement for the United States?
[  ] YES
[  ] NO
