I'm glad you think I'm not empty.  Neither are you, although I think you overinflate your persona to be purposely controversial (much like Sam Spade and a couple others).

Let's see:

Al (massively improved)
Alcon
afleitch (my favorite poster)
...
Young Repub (don't think he's usually called this)
MasterJedi
Inks
Naso

etc.

My rhetoric is more extreme than my actual views so make of that what you will. Tongue

Straha, Phil, and Naso grew on me
Xahar kinda annoys me less now
jmfcst seems to have calmed down with the "burn the gays" talk of late
Hashemite used to annoy me for some reason and now he doesn't
I used to think Inks was absolutely nuts because of the PM score, but since I realized he isn't completely nuts.
DWTL went from Strongly Disapprove to Neutral
I thought EMD was going to be annoying but he isn't

opebo (obvious #1)
Straha
Evilmexicandictator
Torie (since he's now amusing instead of just a random blue avatar)
Jake (simply on the grounds of no longer being an awful fascist)
Tik (since he's not a troll anymore)
DWTL (Can't say I like him, but his anti-constine positions are good.)
Josh22 (At least better than he used to be)
AndrewBerger (used to be a bit of a GOP hack)
Eraserhead (went from not thinking much of him to very positive.)

I've pretty much always liked everyone, but for three or four miscreants who routinely defecate all over the forum with a mix of racism, homophobia, spam and utter stupidity.

One guy I always liked, who I like even more now, is Soulty.  I have learned a lot from him about Roman Catholicism and have appreciated that he defends his church without bashing Protestantism.  (He does bash -- and rightly, I think -- Protestants who foam at the mouth with hatred for the Pope or the RCC.  But that's not the same as attacking a whole denomination and all its adherants.)

Plus, he likes Pittsburgh.  Anyone who loves the 'Burgh is okay with me!

jmfcst seems to have calmed down with the "burn the gays" talk of late

as if I ever said, "burn the gays"...but, obviously, I still 100% believe that sex outside the context of a heterosexual marriage is sin.

Does that mean that you believe in state power to enforce your views?

not at all, I do NOT want the state to define "sin".   I do NOT want the state arresting people for fornication, adultery, homosexuality, etc, etc.

So you'd be okay with myself enjoying a libertine lifestyle(enjoying promiscuity, the ganja, drinking) if you were able to continue living your life?

I typically adopt more of an "innocent until proven guilty" approach to forum members... generally speaking, my opinion of people on here doesn't improve - because I start by thinking they're probably alright, and it can't really go up from there (unless I've previously 'downgraded' them...). I try not to judge on the basis of avatar, or PM score or anything other than the quality of the poster's comments.

No - I like you. I don't tend to look for points of difference with people, and I'm sure we have one or two, but overall I think we probably agree on many issues and even if we didn't - I'm more interested in the quality of someone's justification for holding a policy position, rather than what their position actually is. So few things in the world are black and white - I can very heartily disagree with someone, while still respecting their opinion. I can certainly believe that they are totally, absolutely and utterly wrong, but that doesn't mean they haven't got a right to their own opinion... after all, if I disagree with them that vehemently, they believe me to be totally, absolutely and utterly wrong also.
