Hmmm, right now, Bush needs Florida more.  It doesn't seem like that he will steal any Gore states.  If he can't win Florida, he is done.

As for Kerry, he doesn't need Florida as bad.  All he has to do is hold the Gore states and steal a few small states and it's over.  States such as Colorado, Tennesse, Missouri, W Virgina+New Hamphire, Arizona.

Bush must win 2 of 3 from Penn, Ohio, Florida to win.
Kerry only needs to win 1 of 3 and he will still have a shot.

The democrats have signed up 100,000 new voters in Florida, which is twice as many as republicans

Bush. If he loses Florida he almost certainly loses, unless he manages to keep every other state, and take several Gore states. And even then, it would be close.

Kerry will probably win if he gets Florida, Ohio, or Nevada+WV+Missouri.

I'd say Bush has more use for it, since Kerry will lose anyway.

Factually incorrect

Nov 2000 Florida Registrations

http://election.dos.state.fl.us/pdf/2000voterreg/2000genparty.pdf

August 2004 Florida Registrations

http://election.dos.state.fl.us/voterreg/pdf/2004/2004primParty.pdf

There has been a net GOP gain since 2000 of 11,856 in voter registration relative to the Dems.

If you are going to be a "troll" at least be a factually accurate one.

I think Hennessey is either a 12-year old idiot, or a conservative posing as a Kerry supporter.

Both need Florida equally.  That's a given.

I have stated this before (even started a thread on the subject), and I still think its true:

Bush needs BOTH Florida and Ohio to win.

Kerry needs EITHER Florida or Ohio to win.

I cant see Bush winning without Florida.

Kerry can win without Florida if he picks up West Virginia and New Hampshire. I still think that he will win Iowa, Minnesota and New Mexico.

But basically whoever wins Florida wins the election.

Agreed almost.
Bush needs FL mor ethan Kerry.
Bush needs both OH and FL.
If Kerry gets either one he wins.
But Kerry could win without either if he got 3 of the following 4: NH, WV, NV, CO.  At various times in the last month he has been ahead or tied in all 4.

Ohio and Florida have more or less "swapped" in 2004.

Bush is not a "lock" on Florida, but he does have a mild lean.

If Bush loses Florida it's all over anyway as Ohio, NH, WV, Nevada, Missouri are gone then too.

Kerry must have Pennsylvania.

Both Ohio and Pennsylvania have moved 3% towards the national average - Kerry is a bit up in Pa, Bush is a bit up in Ohio, both are right on the edge either way.
