I know absolutely nothing about computers and I need help in the following areas

  If I find an article on line and I want to re post it how do I go about doing it

how do I  post a link to lets say to  a video  youtube
              how do I use the smiley's that I see everybody using
              how do I upload a picture and put it in my signature
               how do Increase my font size

I would just like to stress again that I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to using
a computer, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard!  I'm sure one of our more tech-savvy people will be along shortly to help you, but here's some suggestions.

I haven't figured out all of the smileys yet, but the ones I have:  a colon + a open parenthesis = a smiley face.  : + ) =

An eight followed by a open parenthesis is a sunglasses smiley:  8 + ) =

A : followed by a P =

A : followed by a ( =

A ; followed by a ) =

A > : ( =

also whats the differance between a hyper link and an FTP link.

I don't believe you can imbed video.  Anything can be hyperlinked with the  button.  Pretty much everything you can do is one of those buttons at the top of your post, just hover your mouse over them.

If you see anyone on the forum doing anything and you want to know how, simply click "quote" on their post (as if you were going to quote&reply) and you'll see exactly what they typed!

You're correct, you cannot embed a video, but this isn't somethin Dave can change, it's a feature that Simple Machines Forums doesn't have (yet?)
