I'd probably go for McCarthy as a big "up yours" to Johnson's Vietnam policy.

Senator Eugene McCarthy (D)

I was torn between two Senators as to support in the 1968 Democratic Primaries. Robert F. Kennedy of New York and Eugene McCarthy of Minnesota. Out of the two I narrowly prefer Senator McCarthy of Minnesota. Not to mention 1968 probably would have been the only Presidential Election where I would have supported McCarthy, from 1972 onwards in my books Gene was a terrible candidate.

I'm split between McCarthy and RFK, but I picked RFK in the end.

McCarthy.

There were certain elecments of the Kennedy campaign that appeal very, very strongly to me, but I'd have been a McCarthy man from the start.

Please tell me it's not from 1968.

Remaking those old campaign shirts must be the new thing. I definitely saw a girl walking around with a Dukakis-Bentsen '88 shirt downtown the other week.

Eh, it could have been worse. She could have shown her support for Al Smith in '28.
Too bad she wouldn't have any clue who he was.

I understand. It would be nice though to not delay the general election. After all, I'm itching to vote again. Vote early & vote often, as they say. Wink

I'll check fairly often today; as soon as I see a winner, I'll lock the thread.  If it's late and nothing's changed, I'll flip a coin.
