Or he must really want to run for President himself in the near future.

What does that have to do with anything?

"Perfect opportunity" between the twin juggernauts of Hillary and Obama?  With so much interest and attention going toward those two, even the VP nominee the last time around could barely get noticed.

"Family concerns" matches with what I heard him say when he pulled himself out of the running for the nomination.  He has three daughters in the teen and pre-teen age range and wants to be near home at this time in their lives.  He may have nights out of town while running for Senate -- it's probably a 6-7 hr drive from DC to Bristol -- but I'd bet he's home a lot more often than he would be if he were the presumptive Democratic nominee for President.  It doesn't necessarily mean skeletons in his closet.

Either that or he just values his privacy. Most people probably wouldn't want their entire life history being gone through with a fine toothed comb.

If anything really bad is out there, I'd think the Gilmore campaign will be digging it up. They can't be that incompetent, can they? Wink

Unsubstantiated rumor:

A friend of mine rather deeply involved in Democratic politics has insinuated Warner is guilty of fooling around with interns.

At least it would be a heterosexual affair, considering he's a Democrat Smiley

Isn't that said of every politician? Rumors flew about Kerry having an affair, too. Those, of course, were bunk. The Edwards rumors, however, were not.

I believe that it probably has more to do with his business dealings. I mean he did make his money by apparently exploiting a now illegal loophole so there could be more beyond that.

I want to know what these interns look like.  John Edwards was named 'sexiest politician' and he was caught fooling around with an old hag.  Makes me wonder with whom an ugly son of a bitch like Mark Warner would be messing with.
Warner's possible paramour:

Since he's a Dem from Virginia, wouldn't this be a more likely target...

A Democrat? Nah ... he probably prefers Republican women -- he is a cross-the-aisle kinda guy, after all.

Here's my VA pick:

im starting to lose respect for warner.

he reminds em of your smart friend in high school who chooses to take consumer math instead of geometry.  settle for the easy a with minimal effort!

at least this tim kaine fellow is ready to take risks.  granted, he is usually a failure once he obtains an office...but at least he doesnt fear running for it.
