A disputed election happens in some country. The evidence is overwhelming that the incumbent won only via massive fraud. However the system is so corrupt the election results stand.

So the opposition candidate arranges with some connections in the military and the government is overthrown a few weeks later via coup. And the ruling party is banned due to their fraud.

An acceptable course of action?

It would depend on how the new govt was run.  If they start out by banning political parties I'm not sure they are going down a path I could aprove.  But other than that, using force of arms to right a wrong is never a bad thing.

I put this in a gray area, unless of course aside from the election fraud the previous government was tyrannical in nature. The ruling party shouldn't necessarily be banned if that's not the case.

Either way the group throwing the coup should hold new elections with independent oversight rather than holding onto power gained by force.

Yes, very much so.  When the military overthrows Obama in 2 years that's how we'll do it.  But you pansies better vote for Patraeus or we'll "accidentally" blow your state up.

Agreed.  It sounds like the Philippines in 1986.

This smacks of Thailand (though the circumstances have been slightly altered). Acceptable, but unwise.

Sure it's acceptable.

EDIT: But the country's constitution can't be violated.

What if the constitution is amended for said purpose?

Maybe I'm just being provincial, but is there any country anywhere that has military coups allowed in its constitution?
