It might be him, or he'll be loyal in case McCain loses so he can run in 2012.

He's not a bad choice, a plus, but there is one better.  Smiley

One thing I have heard is that McCain will limit himself to one term.

In terms of EV's, she adds nothing.  Nationally, her lack of a Y chromosome may help.

Huh?  We already know that.  See this post for example:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=81522.msg1687455#msg1687455

However, as that story implies, it sounds like McCain's running mate will actually appear with him at that rally in Dayton, which means there's a good chance the name will leak out tomorrow, as we see who's making plans to travel to Dayton.

And upstage the Obama speech?  Perish the thought.  Smiley

If he took Christine Todd Whitman, he'd win the election.

Yes, Christie would flip New Jersey to McCain in a heartbeat!  Along with the rest of the Northeast.  Everybody still loves Christie.

As for Rice, I'm a fan, but that's stupid.

Both Christie and Condi are great, but not the best.

The woman who is near universally panned for her stewardship of both the EPA and New Jersey?  Yeah.

I have yet to hear someone suggest that competency at governing is an actual criterion for winning elections.

I think it was certainly a factor in her abandoning her 2000 Senate campaign.

Well, that and the "arresting a dangerous black man" photo-op that surfaced in 2000. Which alone probably makes her ineligible for any elected office ever again.

For the curious:

Yes, I'd forgotten about her race quote.

Pat Buchannan is wearing Ray-Bans, and Nora O'Donnall was attempting to dance.  For possibly the only time in his live, Stevie Wonder was lucky he was blind because he didn't have to see that.

I've been flipping between FOX News and CNN for the past hour and I've seen none of Obama's acceptance speech. For the McCain campaign, that is a brillant move.

You aren't trying hard enough. CNN and MSNBC don't even mention this VP headfake on their websites.

I don't even have to try; MSNBC just bumped Jesse Jackson.

I was talking about television - not the web.

I don't own a TV, so I wouldn't know Smiley

My new favorite network, MSNBC then.

Completely upstaged!

Polnut is right.

McCain has done this SO MUCH better than Obama.

Very, but the press is much worse.

I went to bed thinking it was Pawlenty and mulling Obama's speech.  Smiley
