Hurricane Gustav is forecast to make landfall in or near New Orleans, LA on Labour Day afternoon. LA in 2004 voted Bush 57% Kerry 43% but in 2006 (post Katrina) the state voted GOP 63% Dem 33% Others 4%. Does this mean that the GOP need not worry about Gustav after all?

It could pause the collapse in oil prices and if another catastrophie happens, it could be pretty bad.
