This speech would be a million times better if he had spent more time on what he wanted to do rather than not being able to state a complete thought without saying "John McCain".

And I'm being as objective as possible.

He's way too kind to John McCain. He needs to stop calling the crazy man his friend.

I love the comments about how we need to put aside these nasty, partisan attacks when Obama started off his speech by tearing into McCain. Then he follows up his call for "change" with, "So let me tell you something, John McCain..."

I've never called his style of campaigning "too weak." I've attacked his campaigning when he decides to have a double standard.

I really, really hope that the Democrats keep up this whole "McCain is just another Bush" line, because its not going to work if they push it hard... McCain won't let it.  He'll make a bunch of late game moves to bust away from Bush, and the Democrats are going to lose the central theme of their campaign.

No... .500 is not a winning season.  It's just not a losing season.

Maybe its because I have been in a stadium where 70,000 people were literally screaming their heads off until they almost passed out, that this seems less than impressive to me.

I really wanted to hear inclusiveness and something new; it's not here.

In many ways, it is a very retrospective speech; Obama just invoked the MLK speech.  It is not a forward looking speech.

What positions could McCain change without being called a flip-flopper?

That's OK, all this chatter won't matter when we're holding up that W.S. trophy.

No, it wasn't.  It seemed pretty standard.  I was expecting something that might make me even me consider voting for him.  Hillary's speech was better.

How exactly can he when he is campaigning on every issue of continuing exactly what Bush is doing??

He doesn't have to, he could just shift emphasis onto the things where he is un-Bush like.  Another great October surprise... "No one in the Bush White House will play any role in my administration."

You guys make it sound like he has gone full tilt Bush, when he obviously hasn't.

I believe that Dick Morris said prior to Obama's acceptance speech on Wednesday that Obama needed to make the Democratic National Convention all about criticising John McCain, and boy has Obama done that in his acceptance speech. I have never heard so many criticisms about John McCain in my life. I'm not suggesting he shouldn't have criticised John McCain, but Obama could have cut down on his criticisms of McCain.

As for Obama's speech, it was alright, not one of his better speeches, like the one he made upon his victory in the Iowa Caucuses but not great. I must admit though, I am glad its over. Now for the firework show!
