Okay, so the RNC has started, but the public has yet to pay much attention yet.

Palin gets to make the biggest speech in her career soon, and it's definitely a make-or-break.  Further, the GOP talking heads will be out in full force on every news broadcast in the country, no doubt addressing the Palin issue (which will presumably be what the press wants to talk about).  The GOP is no doubt working overtime to carefully craft and focus group a message, but the question is: What message will it be?

Can Republicans afford to play the "victim" card now that a number of "scandals" have been proven demonstrably false?

Can Republicans afford to try and gloss over the controversy as the number of hit pieces on Palin seem to grow with each passing hour?

How would you play it?

Easily.  Have a big name person get up there, introduce her and provide a good substantive background on her major accomplishments as Mayor and Governor, highlight her involvement in the Pacific Northwest Economic Region and other international councils as Governor, and then let her take the stage.  I see no reason to play a victim when the woman seems strong enough to handle herself.  That is what the media and voters are waiting for.

Well, the BBC has sucessfully manage to destroy her in my opinion. When she was announced I thought "Oh, ho, ho, that's going to make the battle an interesting one" and then in the last few minutes they screened video akin to this and called it a "typical Alaskan afternoon"

You can just see Comedy Central and SNL suggesting that's how Palin was picked.

So much for that. You can thank Rudy.

I still don't know a whole lot about Sarah P and I watched her speech.
