I'm sure the major networks will trot some trashy poll out on Monday so "we know where things stand going into the RNC."

It's Labor Day weekend.  Should we really believe any poll taken over the weekend anyway?  Many people aren't home to answer the phone.

This

Plus, these polls are essentially useless with the RNC coming up in 24 hrs

Although, having a year with back-to-back conventions might make seeing a bouncing harder. Then again, there might not be two seperate bounces, but a bubble depending on who got the bigger bounce.

That's part of why I've been saying wait until the middle of next week.

Its Labor Day Weekend, so that might limit the polls, also many of the polls tend to be 3 day polls.  They would probably wait for the convention being complete before they poll, so a poll would likely be Fri-Sat-Sun, with results either released tonight or a day or two after.

I just heard Wolf Blitzer say that a new CNN poll came out saying Obama 49 McCain 48 and it was taken after Obama's speech and Palin's selection. I still haven't found anything on-line about it though.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I thought I was going loco since I have yet to find it on the internets.

It's not on their website, that I could find, but they characterized it as no bounce and attributed it to.

1.  Obama under performing.

2.  Palin.

CNN's ticker described it as a "statistical dead heat."
