The Clinton impeachment, and I distinctly remember his television appearance admitting he had an affair.

My first election memory is 2000.  I remember we brought maps home from school to color in red and blue.  So first I colored Florida blue, then I had to erase and color it red, then I had to erase it again, and my mom sent me to bed because it was getting too late.

I was born in 1990 if you are wondering.

I remember asking my mother who the President of New Jersey was (I was a little unclear on what a President was) and she said there's only one President: Jimmy Carter. My sister was in the laundry room and said it was now Ronald Reagan. It was a sunny day.

No one else on this thread is near my age in either direction, apparently.

My most vivid memories are of the Agnew resignation and subsequent appointment of Gerald Ford.

I didn't pay attention to much before that........too young.

The 1992 election.  I remember being in second grade and we had an election where we all got a picture of the three candidates(Bush, Clinton, and Perot) and we had to cut out who we wanted and paste it on another piece of paper.  I was supporting Bush as was most of the class.  I really wanted Bush to win the election and I thought he would, but I remember my dad waking me up the next morning to tell me that Clinton won.

It wouldn't have taken quite so long.  As you are aware, I had a lead time of less than 24 hours in Central PA one, and the other only took 5 days, and I was delivering Christmas gifts in between.  I am sure that he wanted a white  Christmas.  Smiley

The night of the 1980 Presidential election. My parents had me convinced that Reagan would destroy the Earth with nuclear weapons.

I so miss cartoons from when I was a kid.  I try to watch the ones my daughter watches and it's just crap.  Spongebob and Oddparents and so forth.  The animation is horrible.  Give me a deranged Yosemite Sam chasing a clever rabbit or coyotes and anvils any day of the week...

And overall about 150% smarter then you've been since you've been on this forum. But hopefully you'll lose the attitude.

why is it ok when you attack other people, but then you play the "victim card" anytime someone dares to criticize your absurd statements?

The 1984 election. I recall watching the debates with my dad, and my dad strongly disliking Reagan. Then on election night, the ocean of Reagan blue filling the map. I was 5 at the time.

49 States for Reagan.. a very fond memeory Smiley

My first French memory is 2002, when my dad told me that Le Pen had gotten into the runoff. I also recall the 2004 regionals a bit, when my dad told me everything save for Alsace and Corse were leftie. I only started paying attention to French politics in '06.

I was in Canada during the 2004 campaign, went to the polls with my aunt, and watched the first part of election coverage (the Newfie and Atlantic part).

vaguely remembering when Harold Wilson resigned as British PM in 1976 and replaced by Callaghan. Also the Jeremy Thorpe (Liberal leader) scandal...accused of plotting to murder his gay lover who was blackmailing him

Wrong board. This should be in Forum Community.

Hong Knog Phooey was awesome. I'm he only person in the world my age who's ever seen it, I bet. Tongue Rocky and Bullwinkle is also severely underrated. It's too bad they took all the classic cartoons off Cartoon Network. But I did greatly enjoy the cartoons of the late 1990s and early part of this decade. SpongeBob SquarePants is the only good one still in production, unfortunately.

Back on topic, I do vaguely remember the 2000 campaign and Bush v. Gore, though not election night itself.
