Well, any appointment she made is better than Zelema Farber or McGreevey's appointing his boyfriend head of Homeland Security.

This is Alaska, how many people are there to even choose from?  Running Alaska is like running a mid-range city (I think the pop is comparable to Boston).  If she appointed friends that's not a big deal, especially if they worked in that area in the private sector.  And as far as consulting her husband on the budget, asking the average person who they think is probably superior to the way the federal budget is controlled by special interests.
