The only thing I can think of to explain his reasoning is that he's making an election night prediction based on some sort of trend line.

edit. okay, yes, i think i have it figured out. he's using a trend line to tell what it will be on election night based on current trends, and he's using 2004 numbers as his base. i think.

Says right in the corner of the map "Based on poll analysis as of October 6", as it says in the lower left corner of the map.

Not sure what polls show Obama up in Kentucky. I don't think he's even ahead in New America.

analysis = continuing the current trend on to election day? has to be.

Maybe he's under the impression that the race is between Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush?

You know, sometimes I doubt this is Dick Morris himself writing. No one can possibly be this stupid.

Then I realize he predicted Hillary - Condoleeza as the '08 matchup, and then all my doubts are soothed.

edit: It doesn't even add up right. If you calculate the map it would be 394 Obama/110 McCain/34 Tossup, but the graphic at the bottom shows 386/118/34 instead. The guy can't even use a calculator correctly.

Obama is 3 points further behind in the last Arkansas poll than he was in the one before, so no, that's not it, either.

Not sure how a state can be safe for someone who has trailed by at least 9 points in every poll taken there the entire year, but hey, what do I know.

Are Dick Morris and Zogby the same person?  Discuss.  At the very least they should go into business.

WTF? Even the liberal trolls around here couldn't make a map that bad. I won't even waste my time saying how horrible of a map that is.

Eh...John was "confident" in his "special" way. Morris is confident in a very cocky way. I love both attitudes.

Maybe there's some sort of secret code built into his map we're supposed to decipher.
