A little more proof that this SC poll might have been a smidgen off.

No joke. 41% will probably be the best Conley can do. Graham may have pissed off some people with immigration reform, but no way goes he lose the race by less than 10%. The Presidential race showing Obama within 6 is enough to tell me this isn't the best poll in the world.

Didn't Sanford only end up getting 55% of the vote? South Carolina is consistently a very Republican state, but the margins are never absurdly lopsided.

My prediction:

SOUTH CAROLINA PRESIDENT -
54% (R) McCain
43% (D) Obama
  2% Others

SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE -
57% (R) Graham
42% (D) Conley

Don't disagree.  But this is still a good bit closer than it will be.

I remember hearing that Conley is something of a Paulite in Democrat's clothing. It'd be pretty cool to have a R[LOVE]utionary in the Senate.

Yes, you're correct, he is much more conservative than Graham, and I'll never figure out how he managed to win the primary.

Only way Graham could lose is if the whole gay thing gets exposed. Extremely unlikely. Safe R seat.
