If you do not undestand the implications of these businesses failing, maybe I can out it into perspective for you.

No bailout = imminent depression

The failure of banks and the real estate business will have a ripple effect throughout the developed world. The PRC would also be hit hard.
Well, that's the administration's talking point. I'm inclined to not believe anything they say anymore, however.

It's rare that I say it, but I have to agree with the President.

Immediate interjection of capital into the financial market is necessary, as most economists from both the Left and Right agree upon.

How this plan should develop is obviously a debating matter.

The Dow futures are already down 100 points.  If the market sees another 300 point drop, McCain will likely drop a few more points and so will Republicans in House races.  Is this what the House GOP wants?
