What will be the next bellwether state???

It would have to be a state Bush43, Clinton, Bush41 and perhaps Reagan and beyond took every time they were elected. There are a lot of options, but the most likely right now is Nevada followed closely by Ohio.

Assuming Obama wins, the list will be very short. If McCain wins, forget I posted this.

If not Missouri, then Nevada.

I'm not sure what defines "falls". Since MO has only failed to go with the winner once in the last 100 years, then I assume you mean what if MO goes with the loser. MO only missed the winner by 0.2 % in 1956, so if they are at least close, it would be hard to take away their bellwether status.

Oh, I strictly am talking consecutive times to the winner.

Ohio hasn't missed since 1960, when they went for Nixon.  Nevada missed in 1976.  Florida missed in 1992. Arkansas last missed in 1968.

I didn't know that!  But it looks like it'll probably be wrong this time.
