McCain should beat Obama, especially in the rural area. Obama's only chances are in the black parts of certain cities.

President Heinz Fischer (Social Democratic Party) currently enjoys 80% approval ratings and will be easily re-elected for another 6 years in 2010 (if he decides to run).

The US Presidential race in Austria:

Obama - 84%
McCain - 8%
McKinney - 4%
Nader - 3%
Barr - 1%

2008 doesn't prove that.  McCain was, fundamentally, a far better candidate for the greater NYC area than was Bush.  Obama's blackness and exotic name didn't help him where I come from, either, certainly.

Gore just overperformed in Long Island and New Jersey in 2000. McCain did very well in Nassau and Suffolk counties for the margin that he lost by.
