I doubt he'd want to serve in an Obama cabinet

I could actually see him picking Hillary, oddly enough. I don't think Bill would do it.

You're pretty damn hilarious.

I'll say that either Lugar or Richardson will be his running mate.  Note: I didn't list Chuck Hagel because wishful thinking got the best of me.

Richard Lugar is clearly Obama's top choice.  The only question is if Lugar would want the job.

Should Lugar decline...

Sam Nunn is a strong possibility.

I'd be elated if it were John Kerry.

Chuck Hagel may well have a place in the cabinet, but I doubt it will be at State.  I think the smart place to put him would be Veterans' Affairs.  But Defense is also a possibility.

Nope.... not a politician..... can't remember the name to save my life.  She more of the scholarly mold.  Tucker Carlson's neighbor in DC.

Anyway, to answer Mitty's question.

1.  Susan Rice

2.  Should Obama win... a few weeks after the election

She's the only woman on his foreign policy team that's been advising him since Day One.  I've seen her on the cable news shows a handful of times, especially during the primary.

That would make two black females in a row as Secretary of State.

You know, I have to believe Bill Richardson is far more effective that he appeared in his primary campaign.  But he was so God-awful, both in debate and on the stump, I'd be a little reticent to ask him into my cabinet.

He was a pretty good UN ambassador, I guess.

Reading her bio, she seems like a pretty sharp/qualified lady.

She was very good in the interviews I saw. It should also be noted that she served in Bill Clinton's administration as well (as have many of Obama's advisors).

I've been reading since like March that John Kerry really wants the Secretary of State position and is apparently lobbying hard behind the scenes for it.
