Wait, I'm confused as to what this sentence means...

No offense, but I could smell Madia was in trouble.  AS for Bachmann, I should have gone with my first instincts on that race.  Ugh.

How did you know Madia was going to lose?

He's a Democrat in the third district? Tongue

I just feel the momentum shift after Paulsen ran the "colored" ad, and neither Madia nor the Dems really had an effective counter to it.

I'd be more hesitant to chalk it up to closet racism, but I'm a biased optimist.  I'd say it had something more to do with the "he's not one of us suburban types!" effects (which is related to race, but I'd say a different issue) and perhaps that Paulsen seemed to bring out Ramstad more and more effectively as the race went on.

Possibly.  Since I wasn't following the race *that* closely, there might be some local effects that I'm missing.

Besides, my comment doesn't have necessarily to do with the *race* effect, but rather that a counter to it was not effectively taken (so that it left some bad thoughts in people's minds).
