sounds like he's trying to build an all-star team rather than a cabinet

Bizarre choice.

I was hoping he'd get snubbed after his blatant "endorsement for cabinet position" betrayal.

Why would Richardson get Commerce?  Give him Energy.

Give him Commerce.  This guy is too much of a tool to be given a real job.

I'm guessing that incident as Los Alamos is going to prohibit Richardson from getting his Energy job back.

Everyone should run for president, youre bound to get something out of the deal if your side wins.

Maybe the Commerce Department will be better with a political appointment instead of a seemingly qualified one.

What the hell would be the 'qualification' for the Commerce Department?  Normally that department is just a shill for big business, no?

Well, there could always open up ambassadorships in some Third world or mini-country.

Interior is still vacant. Gravel would actually be well qualified for the post. Grin

Why not Energy?  Because I'd imagine Obama doesn't want to renew the discussion of Los Alamos at the start of his CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN PRESIDENCY 2009TM.

Well, this is a suitably obscure gig for a guy who deserves to be a lot more obscure than he is. Good choice Obama!
