Tippecanoe, Indiana
(Lafayette, West Lafayette, Purdue University)

2004: Bush 59-40
2008: Obama 55-44
Swing: 30%

I thought Obama would win here (my home county), but I didn't think he'd CRUSH McCain by 11 points.  But then, I didn't think Obama would crush McCain to this great extent nationwide, either.

This is just... unbelievable, is all I can say.

Please post any large swing counties here.  I'm interested in knowing where Obama really picked up ground.

Duval County moved a whole lot, which made a big difference in that state, Orange County as well.

Counties within large metropolitan areas, counties with a university, counties with lots of university graduates. I think that's it.

(slight exaggeration. Totally wrong in certain areas).

Loads in Iowa swung 15%+

In Penn, not necessarily so big but telling nevertheless:

Berks: Bush+7 to Obama+9
Chester: Bush+4 to Obama+9
Monroe: Tie to Obama+17
Lackawanna: Kerry+14 to Obama+27
Erie: Kerry+8 to Obama+19
Centre: Bush+4 to Obama+11
Elk: Bush+9 to Obama+4
Susquehanna: Bush+22 to McCain+11
Dauphin: Bush+8 to Obama+11

and so on

None of these hold a candle to Tippecanoe, IN.  Gotta be in the top 10, if not in the top 5 swing counties in the nation.
