Carl Cameron: We’re told by folks that she didn’t know what countries that were in NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, that being the Canada, the US, and Mexico.  We’re told she didn’t understand that Africa was a continent rather than a country just in itself ... a whole host of questions that caused serious problems about her knowledgeability.

I like the meeting her advisors after stepping out of the shower in a towel thing.

I don't know if we'll ever appreciate just what we've managed to avoid.

Palin IS a numb alley girl, that is why I am voting for someone else in the GOP 2012 primaries.

Can you believe that sizeable portion of the GOP wants her as their nominee in 2012? How scary is that?

So my thought that she's what you got if you put the X chromosomes of Bush and Cheney together is correct?

Only if you are frightened by a second Obama term.

I'm just frightened by the though of her being the nominee of one of the two major American political parties.

People on the forum attacked me when I initially suggested that Palin might lack knowledge of some national and international issues (I initially gave the far more reasonable items of the difference between Sunnis and Shi'ites and Biden's plan of dividing Iraq into three countries).

Some of this is surely finger-pointing and sniping, but I feel vindicated (with Palin's initial shutout from the press the Couric interview confirming).

I'm not prepared to believe any of this stuff yet, but it does worry me, not that I'm keen on her in 2012 at all.

Hopefully this will tank Palin  -  permanently. One of the main reasons I voted for Obama, although not the only reason, is that I did not like the off the cuff way McCain picked her as a running mate. It was well - reckless. That is not what we need in a POTUS.

We’re told by folks that she didn’t know what countries that were in NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, that being the Canada, the US, and Mexico.

It maybe news to some, but last I heard, North America consisted of more than just 3 countries.  It would be reasonable for someone to think at least a few central american countries were included in NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement.

We’re told she didn’t understand that Africa was a continent rather than a country just in itself [/url]

dude, get real.  can't you see they're already working for their 2012 candidates and are just trying to keep her from the nomination in 2012?

---

as for Palin in 2012...she's damaged goods.  she should have turned McCain down and waited for 2012 and done what every other person who runs for president does:  assemble a team of advisors 6 months before the primary campaign starts so that the candidate can come up to speed on the range of issues every candidate must know

It would be reasonable for a contestant on Jeopardy. Not for somebody running for vp.

Knowing who's in NAFTA isn't a matter of being prepared for the Vice-Presidency, it's a matter of studying on the level of a middle-school Government test.

Yes, it would be reasonable for some average citizen not involved or interested in government to not be sure which countries signed onto NAFTA.  However, any nominee for VP of the US who doesn't know which countries are NAFTA signatories less than two months before the election is in WAY over her head.
