Why does www.TimKaine.com redirect to Lonegan's campaign website?

LOL, amazing.

How do people discover this crap?

Why does www.TimKaine.com redirect to Lonegan's campaign website?

As someone who's actually been tasked with doing this, it's a basic online strategy buy up domain names you suspect your opponents will register.  GoDaddy = Aaataaaaaack

BUT, I don't get why one would use Tim Kaine, that seems dumb.  Also, anyone who bought that domain name could create a simple redirect, so it could be that whoever owns that is a Lonegan fan.

Lonegan, his campaign team, and his supporters never make any sense, so why question it, now?

Well, it was created in 2001.

maybe its actually Tim Kaine trying to get lonegan to win the primary so corzine has a better chance of winning in the general. of course that's kinda ridiculous but not really anymore than a lonegan supporter doing it.

Tim Kaine really isn't that uncommon of a name... probably just some dude who's also named Tim Kaine who is a fan of this Lonegan character.

My prediction is that this guy registered sites that he predicted might be important later on -- Tim Kaine was running for Lt. Governor in 2001.  From there, he can either redirect to conservatives he prefers or sell the domain names back for a profit.

Rasmussen polled the Republican Primary yesterday:

Chris Christie 39%
Steve Lonegan 29%
Some Other Candidate 3%
Not Sure 29%

I also saw my first Lonegan ad on NYC TV tonight - trying to tie Christie and Corzine together for supporting progressive taxation (under which half the people subsidize the other half, according to the ad) while touting Lonegan's flat tax proposal.

Rasmussen General Election:

Christie (R): 47%
Corzine (D): 38%

Lonegan (R): 42%
Corzine (D): 41%

Favorable Ratings:

Christie: 51% favorable, 32% unfavorable
Lonegan: 43% favorable, 32% unfavorable
Corzine: 44% favorable, 53% unfavorable

Generally speaking do you prefer a Democrat or a Republican as the governor of New Jersey?

48% Democrat
34% Republican

This telephone survey of 500 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports May 12, 2009. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

LOL @ Lonegan leading Corzine.

The Dem vs. Republican poll is the most telling, of course. Same old New Jersey...

Saw that one earlier. Figured someone else would post it. lol

I figured the 15 spread last time was a little high, but at least we know now that New Jersians are actually serious about dumping Corzine.

Corzine (D): 41%

Ayah. I mean, many people probably don't know much about Lonegan, but still...

I'm going to say this now, if Lonegan wins the nomination, I am done with the GOP.

Uh, why? I'll never understand how suddenly people are not members of their respective party just because their candidate loses a primary/the person they dislike wins.

If you're hinging you're party registration on a single primary, you're not really a member of that party anyway. That being said, you never really were a Republican anyway (you told me you only registered that way recently for this primary).

I think you mean you're done with the NJ GOP and I wouldn't blame you. If I was an NJ Republican and that happened, I wouldn't leave the party but I'd distance myself when it comes to involvement. Letting that joke win would be an absolute disgrace.

I'm actually halfway Republican and halfway Libertarian. I've been that way since 2005.

A Lonegan primary win could put me over into the Libertarian Party.

Uh...why?

Why would Lonegan - a libertarian Republican - winning the GOP primary push you - a libertarian - away from the GOP to the Libertarian party?

If he's going to be voting for irrelevant third parties like Lonegan he might as well just vote for the Libertarian candidate. Smiley
