I read the correction to the correction that put the blame on Christie and I still can't figure out what exactly happened. If Schundler ever planned to make himself the wronged party here, he blew it by asking to be fired so he could unemployment benefits.

A politician in New Jersey having a good approval rating? That's definitely a new one.

Well, Christie is anything but an ordinary New Jersey Politician.

The claim that anybody is not an ordinary politician is something that I need to see to believe. It would seem that Christie is not disappointing, however.

Good? For NJ, that's like a 75% approval rating!  Cheesy

Hilariously good?

That's still pretty good to be even positive at this point in a state like New Jersey.

For him to have a positive approval rating after all of the "controversy" is very good. For him to be near or over 50% is great. All of this is outstanding though because he's the Governor of New Jersey. Ratings like these are rare for any statewide elected official in that state.

Corzine had ratings over 50 with low disapprovals in these polls in 2005... trying to find his ratings in 2002 on the web but not successful. I'm not sure if he had <50 in polls between 2001 and 2005, not sure why he would other than "it's NJ."

Corzine might have had solid ratings in 2005 but after becoming Governor in 2006, I'm pretty sure he sunk into the 30-35% range.

Christie is a pretty solid governor who has made some drastically needed changes.

I wish he would go further on policy and not quite as far on rhetoric at times, but I'll take what I can get here.

He will likely be re-elected in 2013. I have to imagine the big hitters on the Democratic side are waiting for the 2014 Senate seat.

It really comes down to property taxes, and how local townships and state government have been f***ing taxpayers in the butt over the last decade. Sure, the Democrats will rack up huge margins in Essex, Hudson, and Camden, but they'll lose the rest of the state.
