kind of funny how he separates himself from NoVa

That's probably smart of him for now.  He should try and build up support in other parts of the state.

I agree. He is very-NOVA based, and it would be wise to spread his following.

I feel like Terry's ace in the hole might be the minority vote

I'm not sure he's so popular with the minority vote; and even if he is, I don't think enough minorities will vote to swing the election to him.

On the latter, you may be right.  The minority vote (Hispanics & Blacks) are a particular emphasis  of his outreach but would only come into play if everything else is in an all-else-is-equal realm.   I'm just saying it's not a stretch to imagine them putting him over  the finish line.

Hopefully not,. but they certainly ain't gonna all rush over to Deeds

I agree they won't rush over to Deeds, but I don't think McAuliffe will win them by enough of a margin to have them be his ace.  He'll probably split the minority vote with Moran, and have Deeds in third.

If McAuliffe is the nominee, how many of the Dems on this forum will back McDonnell?

I may back McDonnell, but I may choose to support the Independent Green candidate.

Why the hell would blacks back an uber-anti-Obama hack?

They backed Hillary more than they did Obama until he started winning and Bill started running his mouth.  I expect Hispanics and Blacks still love the Clinton name now that the primary is over.

I know it's hard, but don't be delusional.  Socioeconomic poor minorities are going to back the candidate with the most money.

The other candidates could certainly remind them. Terry's greatest hits on the media would make for some great campaign ads.

Oh, I forgot again, Special Election Excitement The Third tonight. 107/228 precincts in, and Sharon Bulova is leading by about 1,800 votes. Looks like Bulova got a lot of votes out in her Supervisor district, but most of Herrity's district has yet to report.

Also, Bob McDonnell, in the Jerry Kilgore tradition, announced his resignation today to run for Governor full-time.

215/228, Bulova up 1,600 votes. There are 8,600 or so abentee votes outstanding, so who knows who will win.

Did somebody post this?

http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Release_VA_203.pdf

McAuliffe 18%
Moran 18%
Deeds 11%

I guess I'm backing Moran for now.

All precincts in and about 4,900 absentees and Bulova is up 1,200 votes. I think, barring a surprise with the remaining absentees, she's won.

PPP, for some unfathomable reason, polled the Democratic primary for Lt. Governor. Here are the results:

Jody Wagner - 13%
Rich Savage - 4%
Michael Signer - 3%
Pat Edmonson - 3%
Jon Bowerbank - 2%

Kind of amusing to see blogger favorite Jon Bowerbank dead last.

Those aren't good numbers, but it's still early.  I still think that Deeds will pull things out in the end.

Eh, I was being a little overdramatic. All that those numbers really show is that most people haven't made up their minds yet. Those numbers aren't the only reason I'm tentitively backing Moran, honestly.
