Hilarious. The Libertarian Party is always worth a good laugh. However, the worth while third party story of the night is that of Ted Weill, the Reform Party candidate who pulled 470 votes nationwide.

He was only on the ballot in his home state of Mississippi.

long, hard fall for those kids from the Perot days in 1995

They do, in theory, but their signature requirements are draconian -- something like 10% of the state's population.

Well, they've got to do all they can to stop the Socialists coming back, han't they.

I am surprised. I thought Barr would fare much better than Nader.

I thought so too, but his campaign was pure epic fail.

This is also Nader's 2nd best election result. Note that votes are still being counted (including write-ins). Here are his results from best to worst: 2000, 2008, 1996, 2004.

Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney now also has over 150,000 votes, which is over 30,000 more than Green presidential candidate David Cobb got in 2004. Green popular votes for the US Senate and House are also likely the highest ever.

IIRC, the red flag is still banned there (though that law is of course unenforceable).
