I dont know if his name has been brought up here, but I think he might be interested in running if security concerns are a big issue in 2012. I dont know what his views are on social and economic issues, but I think he could make a race against Obama interesting even though I think the GOP might want to go with someone younger like Thune, Jindal, or Pawlenty...

I agree, he doesn't really want it... if Obama does (what he sees as) the absolute wrong thing in Iraq and Afghanistan, he could feel compelled to run, but as it would be a calling and not an ambition, he wouldn't get very far.

Plus, I think Obama will give him a fair amount of trust in Iraq, which makes the point moot.
