Here are the final results from last year:

Use this thread to debate which categories should stay, which should go or which should be added to this year's awards.

Given that this was an election year, perhaps have a Best Predictor and a Worst Predictor category, in addition to our current categories?

I like keeping the categories the same.  It makes it fun to look back at other winners of those awards.

Agreed.

Given that this was an election year, perhaps have a Best Predictor and a Worst Predictor category, in addition to our current categories?

There's a feature in the predictions section for that.

I was thinking more the individual predictions of posters not related to the final map; like the nominees, VP picks, etc.

I wasn't asking for nominations yet, but thanks anyway.

If most of you guys want to keep all of the same categories, we can just do that.

I'd like the same categories, plus with maybe "Best Electoral Analysis" or something since it's an election year.

Perhaps a "most original idea for an alternate timeline" or something like that. Perhaps also a "best written alternate timeline" too.

Mr. Flynn likes your idea Hugh Smiley.

Likewise with this idea too Shane Smiley.

Mate, I was thinking of the new "Rebuilding the Union" one for the "most original idea" and you for the "best written" one - was specifically thinking of you two when I suggested it.

You might want to add a BEST and WORST sig of 2008 category.  And possibly a category for "Poster least likely to contribute anything positive".

The first idea is a good one.

Your other idea is basically covered by the "Troll of the Year" category, I think.
