My granddad is a big Republican. He claimed he was one in the 1930s and 40s when the south was 90% democrat. My mom is a moderate but didn't like Obama but also doesn't like the Iraq war.  My dad is pretty right winged. The rest of my cousins and aunts are Republicans except for my cousins in DC.

My grandfather was a Republican even when the South was solid Democrat. My mother said she was a left leaning Democrat and supported Jimmy Carter. She switched during the Reagan years. My grandmother came from a prominent Democratic family and voted that way till she married my grandfather. My dad, I am not sure. His family immigrated from Greece in the 20s. He's been voting Republican for a while, but I'm not sure when it started. My voting record has been mixed, but mostly leaning toward the Republicans. I've voted for some Democrats locally and for Lt Governor of SC.
