Paternal grandparents: Not really worth speculating. They are/were anti-gun, ant-free trade Republicans (who supported Bill Clinton in 1996) later in life, unsure prior to 1980. They're literally of Italian and Greek descent and 3rd and 2nd generation immigrants who lived most of their life in Brooklyn, NY. Their younger relatives who still are alive are wealthy white educated voters and many of whom still live in New York, so they are Democrats.
