Not sure for before 2004. My dad voted pretty enthusiastically for Obama both times, however in 2016 was definitely lukewarm at best at voting for Clinton (he never would have voted for Trump.) My mom is not really political - she only voted for Kerry in 2004 because he was the Senator from our state. She actually supported Romney for governor in 2002 and supported him over Obama in 2012, although she didn't vote. Didn't feel like voting mattered but voted in 2016 for Hillary (likes her more than my dad does) in order to stop Trump.
