Mother: I think she was apathetic for awhile, she told me that the first political race she was interested in was the 1990 NC Senate race between Jesse Helms and Harvey Gantt.  I don't think she's ever voted Republican, and has been voting in Presidential elections since the 1990s.

Father:  I know he voted Democrat 2000-2012; before that, I don't know.

Grandmother (maternal): Voting since 1956, only voted Republican in 1972.  May have voted for Wallace in '68, I don't know.  She voted Democrat in every other election.

Grandmother (paternal): Only Republican she voted for was Eisenhower; Democrat in every election since then, I think.

Grandfather (paternal): I don't know.  He may have voted for a Dem back in the '60s but he has been very conservative at least since the '70s.  He has voted straight Republican since then.
