the reason that ppl have not done that is cause they are in the party that they want the country to be run by.

That's not what the topic is about.

It's about posters.  Forum posters are not the same as current party leaders.

Not libertarians cause you need some government to help maintain structure.
You are confusing libertarians with anarchists again.  Please stop.  Libertarians don't want NO govt, we want LESS govt.  Huge difference.

This thread is mostly to observe people weho cross party lines rather than those who stick to them

I don't know, I'm a registered Libertarian and there a lots of different types of us.

Just because someone is economically conservative and socially liberal (in the American sense) and registers in the closest party to that, doesn't mean they are anarchists.  It just means that they (we) think if we can't trust the Post Office to deliver a letter then we probably don't trust other aspects of government bureaucracy to kill the right people or to wiretap only when its properly justified.  Largely this skepticism of government efficiency is not necessarily derived from theoretical love of the free market but rather pragmatic experiences in contemporary America.  Honestly, if you can't trust the U.S. government to deliver a letter on time, would you trust that same agency with your mother's life?  I think you're too quickly dismissing Libertarians as "anti-government" as if it is something weird or fictional.

There are differing degrees of Libertarians.  Are there any hard-core Ayn Rand Objectivists on Atlas's forums?  I don't know.

But just because someone combines mainstream ideas from the GOP and combines mainstream ideas from the Democrats, I don't see why that makes them outlandish.

The Libertarian candidate this year was hardly the standardbearer for the anarchist wing, anyway.

Totally made my vote so easy.  Barr was too pathetic to even warrant a protest vote

Not voting for Barr was easier than breathing for me.  I voted Libertarian for my Congressional race though

I'm the leader?

I'm "in the tank" for Obama, but I don't know about leading for him.

My ballot itself was 33% Republican, 33% Democrat, and 33% Libertarian.

Bear in mind that she thinks that the federal government might be more effective in the Obama administration. Effective federal government is an oxymoron.
