I apologize for the blurry(ish) quality. Even though the iPhone's pictures are good quality compared to other phones they're still not all that great.. Anyway, recoil at my hideousness! (Two pics have my hair in a ponytail, one with it down.)

Maro! You aren't hideous, and that's coming from a hetero Smiley

I had to take a picture with my fake "progs" on so here we are (the picture is a little fuzzy, for some reason)...

So I was trying to find some things in my bedroom and stumbled upon my pictures from Italy/Greece 2006. I decided to go through them and found some old favorites. Since I'm bored, I'll post two here. Forgive the rather poor quality of the photos (due to my bad printer/scanner) and the fact that the pictures are super big...

This is me looking sort of pissed off outside of the Vatican Museums. Not exactly the most interesting stuff.

Pompeii is seriously the hottest place I've ever been (and I've been to Mexico 3 times).  I swear it had to be like 120 degrees when I was there. By the look on your face in that picture, I'll bet it was the same when you were there.

Absolutely! I remember that day. Well, I really remember it for other reasons (it was the day after the World Cup win. I'd upload those photos but there aren't many. I was too busy celebrating and didn't bother taking pictures). But, yeah, that place is like Hell temperature wise. I'll note that while I'm obviously tanner in my Pompeii photo, the color is messed up just a bit.

During my most recent trip, it was even worse. We were there during a horrible heat wave (it was hitting almost 100 degrees in Milan). I remember times when we had to dress up for some events and I was absolutely miserable because I'd be literally soaking wet with sweat.

wow... Italian Stallion in those white pants...

Yes... the pictures and hindsight make it all seem to perfect... but if you're fair skinned, 100 degrees is never pleasant... add to that the relatively southern latitude and the stronger sun and it'll make you miserable.

I spent the day at the beach in Hong Kong in May of 2005 (so the sun was pretty much directly overhead) and I didn't get enough sun block on my back... it was burnt to a crisp and I had a 14 hour flight the next day.  Worst.  Day.  Ever.

They were khaki shorts.  Tongue

I would never wear white pants. Never.

I'm not really fair skinned and I actually prefer the heat but dealing with 90+ weather for two weeks is just too much.

Your people aren't able to deal with that type of heat.  Tongue

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of really hot weather.  And while I am fair skinned, I tan just fine... just not near the tropic of Cancer close to the summer solstice.

But yeah... my bad on the khaki shorts.  I was really starting to wonder about you.  But since you mentioned the color being a bit off prior to my comment, I'll let it slide.  Now all you need is the fanny pack and an ice cream cone and you'll have the tourist stereotype down to a fine art!
