Starting with part 1 of 9- http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXTg5Wxym1Y

It is interesting to see how the view on the electoral importance of each state has changed. Putting this into perspective, the last three elections were landslide losses for the Democrats, so this must have been very exciting for Democrats to watch. Also, southern states like Kentucky  going to the Democrats may not have seemed that unusual as they do now because the last Democrat victory was Carter, who won them too. On the other hand, the anchor makes a deal out of Vermont going to the Democrat, which seems completely insignificant now.

Yes, 1980, 1984, and 1988 were all presidential elections that the Republicans won in a landslide (over 400 electoral votes all three times).

Ooh snap, thought he was refering to 2000 - 2008. It's all good.

These videos remind me how surprising that Bill won Georgia and not Florida in 92...

Man...it would have been so great to win that election. 1981-1997....oh man that would have been awesome. The 90s would have been the "Bush Era" just as the 80s were the "Reagan Era". Of course, the 00s ended up paying off for the "Bush Era". Wink

They should have let Rather anchor this last one. He is an amusing man.

I'm surprised I actually agree with you once Naso. Not because of the fact that George Bush would have been reelected but due to his reelection resulting in no Republican Revolution of 1994 ever happening. How great that would have been...
