If it is on a purely voluntary basis, I would give to foreign cars, to keep my money out of union hands.

Foreign.  Not just because of the union-aided bloatedness of the big three, but because american car co execs have had their heads up their asses for the last few decades.

Depends on the car really.  For the sake of the hypo I said foreign, only because they tend to get better reviews than American cars.

As long as the unions in the auto industry are unwilling to make any sacrifices in their bloated, outlandish, and excessive wages, benefits, and pensions, the American auto makers do not deserve one cent of tax payer money.

Excessive CEO pays aren't why GM, Ford, and Chrysler are in trouble right now.

No one wants to buy their cars.

American.

The anti-worker rhetoric from Republicans is disgusting, by the way. And not a single complaint about the extravagance and money-hording of the CEOs. Typical. Hopefully we do go all the way into another Great Depression, so we can start from scratch and maybe rework this fukced up system so it's at least somewhat fair for a few decades.

FAMs, for that exact reason.  Union members already make enough.

American obviously.  I dislike nearly all foreign made/designed cars.  The only cars which appeal to me on any level, and the only ones I consider really practical for american use are large, heavily built, simple cast-iron low-tech autos.  Of course the US co.s don't make those anymore either for the most part, but they did until not so long ago, and could do so again, if properly subsidized.

Also it is obscene how little the foreign car companies pay their workers in the US.

This, as well as the fact that FAMs make better cars. Free market principles would dictate that they should succeed as a result.

Foreign cars since they're good quality. My parents haven't owned american cars since the 1970s and I plan on keeping up that tradition.

LOL, free market principles. Why do you think the Japanese (and European and soon Chinese) auto makers are so successful? Massive government subsidies, and government-provided healthcare and retirement benefits.
