I like the idea of two parties running a joint ticket too much
They can still do that under this amendment.
There seperate contests, one could win and one could lose therefore defeating the purpose of the alliance

If that happened, the resulting recriminations and excitement would be fun to watch, though.

Obviously everybody voting (cept the hardline RPP nazis) has already forgotten the last presidential election.
