Implying that the origins of the west were in white areas. Nothing more and nothing less. If you're culturally western it doesn't matter your skin color, you're one of us.

Anyway, just because you have not heard of figures of the Russian or Polish enlightenment or any other eastern European enlightenment, does not mean they did not have one. You might like to know that Denis Diderot, one of the most influential figures of the French enlightenment, spent some time at the court of Catherine the Great.
