New 538 Senate Ratings

NH, PA, MO, KY, and CT are the top five most likely to switch.

Their PA ranking is full of crap and non-understanding of the local political scene, but the rest is roughly ok

If I saw it, I would have. It's stupid. A list I make up is just as valid.

People are allowed to do that on this forum, you know, and have done so frequently.

Shut up and quit being disrespectful. This is Nate Silver, whose words are more important than the words of any other human except Jesus.

Go ahead and make one. Give it your own thread.  No one will mind.

Nate Silver isn't just "one guy."  He's a respected statistician whose work in predicting elections has been featured in numerous forms of print, radio, and television media.  He may have started out as an anonymous blogger but he has become a nationally recognized expert in predicting electoral outcomes.

There's no doubt that his list of competitive races is highly subjective at this point.  We're way to far out to have the appropriate number of polls for his formulas to begin doing their work.  But that doesn't mean we should just pitch him aside as "some guy."  The mere fact that thousands of people follow his blog elevates the relevance of his opinions immensely.  Whether they be right, wrong, or somewhere in the middle is inconsequential.  As a distributor of information and opinions on that information 538.com is, for all intents and purposes, just as reputable a media source as any of the talking heads at the major networks.

So, unless you're some sort of famous political analyst, reporter, or historian I don't see how your opinion rivals that of the all-mighty political forecaster Nate Silver.  Now fall to your knees and beg for forgiveness from he who has deemed us worthy of his awesome prognostic knowledge.

Yeah, what has this Jesus fella ever done in the way of analyzing elections? Nothing, that's what.
