Kicked out in 2008: Floyd, KY and Knott, KY
Left: Brooks, TX* and Washington, DC**

*County since 1911. The county it was part of prior to that never voted Republican while it was with it.
**Only voting since the 60s, so not quite as impressive.

I think Elliott, KY voted Republican in the 1860s, but I'm not positive.

Have any counties never voted Democrat?

There are some. Ogle County, IL for example has never voted Democrat. Next door Lee County, IL lasted voted Dem in 1852, before the existence of the Republican Party.

There are several counties in Appalachia (specifically eastern Tennessee and Kentucky) that have never voted Democratic as well.

Ironically Lee hasn't voted Republican in a Senate race since 1998.

For the record, what I said was inaccurate. Elliott County, KY was formed in 1869 from pieces of Morgan, Lawrence, and Carter counties, though the majority of the area came from Carter. Morgan and Lawrence counties were heavily Democratic at the time; for example, Morgan was 100% Dem in 1864 (though admittedly only 52 votes).

During both 1864 and 1868, Carter County voted Republican (51% and 53% respectively). Because of  the geography of the area, it can be assumed that the majority of what would be Elliott County's votes came from Carter County. Technically, I do not know for certain if Elliott County would have voted for the Republicans in 1864 and 1868, but I would guess that it would have.

Grant County, WV, and Garrett County, MD, have never voted Democratic either, I believe, although they both voted Progressive in 1912.

I thought that SF last voted GOP in 1956. I recalled hearing that Yolo had the longest streak of voting for Democrats, last voting for a Republican in 1952.

Well, I could very well be wrong. Feel free to come up with an estimate of how it would have voted if you'd like.

Kane County, UT is one that has never voted Democratic. I'm sure Jackson County, KY never has either. Obama was also the first Democratic Presidential candidate in history to win DuPage county, as well as McHenry, Kane and Kendall. Western Nebraska must have some too.

1916

No, and there are many other hill counties in Kentucky and east Tennessee that have never gone Democratic either (even before the Civil War, many of these places were Whig bastions).

Obama was also the first Democratic Presidential candidate in history to win DuPage county, as well as McHenry, Kane and Kendall.

These counties all voted Democratic at least once before the Civil War, either in 1852 or earlier (Although I think he was the first Democrat ever to carry Carroll, IL).

No, actually, with the arguable exception of Keya Paha.

Why is that arguable? It went Dem in 1916 and 1896.

I think you got Yolo county wrong. As far as I can tell it voted democrat all the way back to 1960, perhaps even earlier but I'm not sure.
