Yeah, this won't hurt her, especially in California where there's already a significant Asian population. After all, the point is to recruit Asians who came to America to study science and engineering in the first place. Might as well have them work here rather than just study here then go back to their home country and work. The way to get Americans in these fields is to invest in science education in public schools, not block immigrants from coming to work here.

But when immigrants come here, they tighten the labor market and disincentive American students from studying science and engineering because the American students realize they will be competing with Asians and others from all other the world, whereas if they go into something like law, they don't have to. 500,000 jobs is a lot. California citizen Asians should feel the same way, as they are in the same boat as other Americans.

Also, they really should go back to their home country and work. When Asian countries are a little more prosperous, perhaps they'll be able to consume some of their own produce and actually--shock import more from the United States. That is the only hope of correcting the imbalances in the global economy.
