Is completely unafraid to voice some unpopular positions, some of which actually have merit.  Wink

He's keeping one of America's greatest places afloat.  (Yes, simply by living/spending money there)

He's a religious conservative who isn't a judgmental jackass, a too-rare combination (I don't know when "jackass" became my favorite insult, but it is).  He's a man of taste, sophistication, and letters.

Thing I admire 1:  He's moderate.

Thing I admire 2:  He's a hero.

For Snowguy: he has so many great anecdotes that stick with you.  He's our very own Garrison Keillor, right down to the location.

PS: Garrison Keillor is on the top of the list of "celebrities that don't look anything like you imagined:"

For Smid: Smid manages to have the longest fuse of anyone ever.  Einzige is the only person I remember that ever got him visibly irritated in public.  He's patient and willing to see the best in people.

I can't trust a man that can't handle his liquor.  Kal passes with flying colors.
