I don't support anyone as of yet. It all depends on how bad Obama does. If he does bad enough that would make him vulnerable then I'd support someone good like Crist of Jindal, if he does well enough that it would be tough to beat him we should let Romney have it so he could be embaressed and shamed into seclusion.

Would you vote for Obama or Romney in the general?

Depends on what Obama does. As of right now though, yes.

Uhh...I don't think that was intended as a yes/no question.

I thought it said "over" instead of "or" but my answer would be Yes, I'd vote for Obama over Romney atm and it would depend on what Obama did in these 4 years to see if that would hold up. Probably would.

Its hard to say right now who I'll support, seeing as I have no idea what the hell Obama will do at this point, but here is a small list, subject to change.

1) President Barack Obama (D-IL)
2) Governor Charlie Crist (R-FL)
3) Governor Jodi Rell (R-CT)
4) Governor Mitch Daniels (R-IN)
5) Senator John Thune (R-SD)

Not me.
Too moderate, and in his current situation, would be attacked for not having "moral values".

What's his current situation?  Gay rumors?  He just got married.

In the past, he has had several "girlfriends". I dunno. Americans are funny about stuff like this. I think he is a good person, but I think he could get moral attacks on him if he makes it.

It puzzles me why people foresee "gay rumors" as hindering Crist's appeal to the conservative base, while Lindsey Graham has won two state-wide elections in South Carolina.

I can't forsee any Republican that would make me vote against Obama. My top 5 on the GOP side however would be:

1. John Sununu
2. Susan Collins
3. Jeb Bush
4. Gordon Smith
5. Olympia Snowe

Of course, none of these people are going to run...

Gay rumors won't hurt Crist. At the very worst it will just be a lighter "Obama is a Muslim!" thing.

All the support for Mitch Daniels is fascinating. I'll grant, I've seen few politicians in either party as adept at creating and sustaining a complete myth.  I suppose that goes back to the old adage, "make the lie crazy enough and repeat it often enough and people will believe".

Daniels' "economic hot streak" is a much more preposterous myth than The Decider's compassionate conservatism.  Hell, Indiana lost 35-thousand jobs in December. And over 111-thousand jobs in 2008.  Now, I've no problem with the argument that these things are simply cyclical...or that Chief Executives (Presidents or Governors) can't be held responsible for negative or positive employment figures...

But to quote the irascible Judge Judy, "don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining".

I watched Daniels, in his campaign, boast about being "a job-creating machine".  And he DID bring about 400 new jobs to the Fort Wayne area.  The state secured a promise from Dunkin Donuts to open 40 new franchises in and around the city over the next three or four years.  New jobs.  Huzzah.

That is the shell game, no?  Watch the $20 an hour with benefits jobs go down the pishadoo...but create minimum wage jobs with no benefits.  POOF!  You're a job creation machine.

Guys, Daniels is a flim-flam man.  Yeah, I'm a liberal Democrat.  But I am CERTAIN the GOP can do better than this scrub.

Graham has had some difficulties though.

Poor Lindsey Graham.

Could you imagine being a Republican and being gay?  Imagine knowing that your sick lifestyle repulses a sizeable majority of Americans in its crass offense to God, to the extent that you have to hate yourself for what you are?

And then there's the whole 'being gay' thing as well.  It's awful.

After reading this post, I remembered that you schooled me on Mitch Daniels a month or so ago.  I completely forgot.  I guess I'll bump him for Chain-Gang Charlie.

1.  Barack Obama (so far)
2.  Mitt Romney
3.  Mike Pence
4.  Newt Gingrich
5.  Charlie Crist

I also have high hopes for Paul Ryan.  But he's been sending signals that he has zero interest in running for President at this time.

My list may change...but right now I am 100% sure that I will not be supporting the re-election of President Barack Obama, and I approved of his job up until the Gitmo decision, and I currently disapprove.

1. (R-FL) Gov. Charlie Crist
2. (R-AR) Gov. Mike Huckabee
3. (R-MS) Gov. Haley Barbour
4. (R-MA) Gov. Mitt Romney
5. (R-IN) Gov. Mitch Daniels

Fascist much?

It's fascist to support the existence of Gitmo? Come on, dude. I'm not the biggest fan of Gitmo but I understand reasons why we shouldn't close it.
